About the Book

10 BITS COVERTitle: 10 Bits of Wisdom from the Shoe Shine Guy

Author: John Early

Genre: Spiritual / Inspirational

John Early worked in the corporate world for over 25 years. From the outside looking in, it seemed as though he had it all: the beautiful family, the magnificent home, the nice cars and great vacations, the fabulous income with the big 401k. He had what most would consider the American Dream. This was John’s idea of a dream, and this dream was all about him. Then suddenly, in an instant, like the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus, John had an encounter with God that transformed his life forever. John takes the reader through that transformation and the total impact it had on not only his life, but on the lives of those around him, especially those closest to him-his wife and children. He lays out the 10 key bits of wisdom that were instrumental in reconciling and rebuilding those broken relationships. His road on this journey is paved with: Knowing your purpose, Character, Attitude, Goals, Teamwork and Trust, Respect, Courage, Regrets, Reconciliation, and Grace. This book shows all of us, no matter our circumstances or how dark our days may seem, that God is brighter still. Let God start to transform your life.

Book Excerpt for When All Balls Drop Tour

whenallballsdropbanner

I’m sharing an excerpt today from creative non-ficiton / inspirational / memoir “When All Balls Drop”. Enjoy the excerpt, and have a great day.

Book Excerpt

Returning to My Roots

Passing the hours in a dazed state on the fifth floor of St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, I thought of another St. Francis Hospital. In the mid-1970s, I was born in St. Francis Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin, nearly three thousand miles away. Suddenly, I was given a second chance at life in a hospital with the same name as the one where I was born. What a rare coincidence!

Not having lived in Wisconsin since my undergraduate studies in Madison, perhaps I needed to revisit my roots.

My childhood home was a hobby farm in rural western Wisconsin. We lived nearly three miles outside of the small town of Galesville in Little Tamarack, a valley of dairy farms and apple orchards. Our cedar-sided two-story house and its twenty acres were nestled in the heart of the valley. A former orchard served as a pasture for our flock of sheep. Large maple, oak, and pine trees completely hid the house atop a small hill. The rest of the property was peppered with red sheds. One served as the stables for the sheep, another as my playhouse, and the largest for my mom’s antique shop called The Little Red Shed.

About The Book

whenallballsdropcoverTitle: When All Balls Drop: The Upside of Losing Everything

Author: Heidi Siefkas

Genre: Non-Fiction, Inspirational, Memoir

The true story of a survivor
who through losing everything,
redefined having it all

Heidi Siefkas was a happily married, globetrotting professional who seemingly “had it all”—until a tree limb in New York’s Hudson River Valley struck her down, breaking her neck and leaving her unconscious. Suddenly, life as she knew it stopped. She lost her independence. She lost her career. She watched her marriage disintegrate as she confronted a trail of devastating lies about her husband’s double life.

She had lost all that mattered, but she was a survivor. She fought to restore her health, repair her broken heart, and rebuild herself. Along the way, she gained clarity about her core values, ultimately coming to a deeper understanding of what it means to have it all.

Through down-to-earth, short vignettes, When All Balls Drop shows us how it’s possible to “look up” in spite of pain, deceit, and loss. Heidi’s memoir–rich with hope and humor, inspires anyone who’s had to confront tragedy and reassess their life in the wake of life-altering events.

Promo Post The Longest Distance

longestdistancebanner

The Longest Distance 215Title: The Longest Distance

Author: David Scott

Genre: Spirituality, Self-Help, Inspiration and Personal Growth, Literary Fiction

Part love story, part adventure mystery, part travel guide for the soul, The Longest Distance is a meditation in traveling from our heads to our hearts, and an awakening to what lies within.

Shaken by tragedy in the wilds of Africa, Jeremy Braddock sets off in search of the answers to our questions about life, truth, and the all-too-trying-yet-wonderful emotion of love. From Kenya to Costa Rica – and a host of other venues along the way – the protagonist takes us on a rollercoaster ride and riveting journey that reveals to us the masters, the maniacal beauty of this planet, and the greatest mystery of all––the ‘one thing’ we came here to know. As with life itself, he is not alone in this adventure, with the many supporting characters providing him with mirrored reflections of love in its varied forms, and a windowed view into his soul. Armed with his wit, his will, and an ample dose of healthy humility, our vigilant warrior attempts to summon within himself the courage we must all find to see the face of Truth, and walk the path of a higher Love.

The Longest Distance evokes deeper contemplation à la Eat, Pray, Love with a level of discourse and discovery that will resonate with those who have been touched by the writings of Paulo Coehlo and Neale Donald Walsch. Interwoven within the tapestry of the novel and in between each storied tale is an uplifting dialogue with Jeremy’s higher self — the Friend that points the way. What adds to TLD’s universal appeal is the inspirational guest appearances of a myriad of Masters – from poets to statesmen to those of the cloth – along with each chapter’s unveiling of a key ‘quality’ that, when pieced together, helps to reveal the greater picture at hand — the Love within the love that beckons us home.

The Longest Distance is a sleuth of spirit and treasure hunt of the heart that awakens our soul and provides yet another clue for the curious, a jewel for the romanticist in us all.

Author Bio

David Scott A180_1David Scott was born in the United States, and raised in the world. He currently resides in Singapore, but remains deeply connected to the passion that is Paris, the power shift that finds its new home in Asia, and the movement to co-create and cooperate that had its genesis for him in America; its inspiration both within and throughout.

David has spent his career in the field of education, his life in the field of service. He is perhaps best known for his contributions as an accomplished entrepreneur, investor and leader in education, establishing and stewarding innovative school systems of size and scope in North America, the Middle East and Pacific Asia. He has played both visionary leader and humble student, with each measure of the world his teacher. David’s work in education and support of the life sciences has provided hope for a more advanced, equitable and sustainable means to greater health and life for those he has been privileged in knowing.

The central theme of both his scholarship as an educationist and his work as an author is the delicate but essential role of relationships. David’s travels have provided a cross-cultural perspective on relationships of a human nature. His discovery of the inner worlds through meditation and study of various teachings has offered a glimpse into the power of the possible that resides within. It is this he seeks to help unveil in all through education and transformative writing.

With a poetic note and romantic view to the worlds available to us all, David Scott’s writing explores relationships of a higher nature, with a particular emphasis on the Masters and their timely messages. His novel The Longest Distance has been called a meditation from the head to the heart, and an awakening to what lies within. It serves as a pathway to the eternal that is ours to claim.

David may be recognized in the world for his contributions to education. Yet, he remains humbled by the many lessons—the gifts—the world has bestowed upon him as his teacher.

He now remains at your service as an author.

Author Interview for The Unknown Mother Tour

bannerunknownmother

I’m hosting an interview today for the book tour for “The Unknown Mother”, an inspirational / metaphysical novel by author Dielle Ciesco. Thanks for answering my questions, Dielle.

Author Interview

How long have you been writing?

I fell in love with words before I could read them, and I realized pretty early on that, for me, writing was much more fun than reading. So I’ve always enjoyed it. I’ve always been told that I write well. I didn’t realize it was part of my calling until much later, though. But through the years, I’ve written everything from short-stories, screenplays, poetry, lyrics, magazine articles, blogs, and now, books. Now, writing is not just part of my professional endeavors and creative pursuits; it is how I process my life experiences.

Is The Unknown Mother your first novel? If not, please tell us a little about your first book.

Yes, it’s my first. And oy vay! What a birthing process! I began writing it as a non-fiction book about 7 years ago. It just wasn’t coming together. Then I had the inspiration to write fiction, thanks to Victor Wooten’s fabulous story, The Music Lesson. When I made the switch, the book practically wrote itself in just a couple of months. It also seems to have unblocked me in other writings as well. In fact, I just finished a non-fiction companion book, and it came together quite easily and magically.

Tell us about The Unknown Mother.

The Unknown Mother: A Magical Walk with the Goddess of Sound is the story of a woman destined to discover the power of her very own voice. In a dark night of the soul, she meets a Matrika or being that presides over the sounds of language taking her on as a student. This beguiling and eccentric teacher guides her on a deep and powerful journey through 10 mystical gates of sound, sharing great insights, secrets, and profound wisdom about the power of breath, letters, words, and sound to transform the world around us. It’s all based on my experiences with sacred sound and Toltec shamanism, two guiding forces in my life for the past 13 years.

Why did you choose metaphysical/inspirational as a genre for your novel?

I didn’t really choose it; it chose me. ; )

Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

Yes! Read my book! It’s about learning to express yourself from a much deeper place than we’ve been taught. It’s about uncovering your true message, not just regurgitating what is already out there. The world needs your authentic story. Don’t listen to the voices of doubt that wrestle with your desires and ambitions to write. But don’t settle for less than your best either. Write, modify, ask your guidance for clarity, and trust in the process. Work consciously with your intent to create something that will transform you and your readers for the better.

Do you have any works in progress you’d like to tell us about?

My 2nd book,Your True Voice, was just accepted for publication by Anyi Books, so I’m very excited about that. It is the nonfiction companion to The Unknown Mother that I mentioned. Unlike my first attempt with nonfiction, which felt like a drawn-out chore, I was able to write it in such a way that it combines elements of fiction with nonfiction making it quite unusual and a really fun tool for people drawn to this work. So whether or not people have read the 1st book, they can use the next one to unleash the power of the voice…and of course, together, they’re going to pack quite a punch.

Thanks for taking the time to speak with me. I appreciate it.

About The Book

bookcoverTitle: The Unknown Mother: A Magical Walk with The Goddess of Sound

Author: Dielle Ciesco

Genre: Metaphysical / Inspirational Fiction

It isn’t every day that one meets a goddess, let alone a Matrika or being that presides over the sounds of language. It is said such deities can bring us complete liberation. Will that prove true for a struggling vocalist named Wrenne when a mysterious woman appears and offers to help her find her True Voice? This beguiling and eccentric teacher guides us all on a deep and powerful journey through 10 mystical gates of sound, sharing great insights, secrets, and profound wisdom about the power of letters, words, and our very own voice to transform the world around us.

Did you know that “Abracadabra” comes from the Aramaic…” abraq ad habra”, which literally translates to “I will create as I speak”? The message of The Unknown Mother is to reawaken people to this truth and to that which we habitually take for granted…the power of the voice. When we bring our awareness to our voice and learn to express it in new ways, with impeccability, we rediscover our true message. Voice is the key to unlocking our power and magnificence. The Unknown Mother is an adventure for lovers of word, sound, and voice taking the reader into these heart of sonic mysteries. This isn’t standard knowledge; this is a gift for our times.
