About the Book

Title: The Fire God Tour

Author: Michele Sims

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Suspense

Miles Moore is obsessed with fire. He can’t help it—it’s in his genes. He’s also the famous performer Ari, an international hip-hop sensation. There are some negatives that come with fame—death threats and life on the road among them—but there’s also a lot of good: fast cars, fast women, international travel, and more money than he can handle. When Bella Wahlberg joins his team as the chief of marketing, she seems like the antithesis of what he’s looking for, so much so that Miles dubs her Belsa the Ice Queen. It would be unprofessional for them to get together, but more than that, she’s unavailable—and deathly afraid of fire. But as they prepare for The Fire God Tour, Miles can tell something is changing. Is he ready to commit himself to one woman? Can fire and ice come together?

Character Interview No Quarter: Wenches

noquarterwenches

I’m hosting a character interview for “No Quarter: Wenches” today. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Character Interview

Tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m the widow of the pirate Rowdy Belford and I had a son who ran off to be pirate like his father. As a fem-sole, I perform laundry services to make ends meet, as a pirate widow’s pension doesn’t pay the bills. And currently, I’m looking after Boots, Dr. Strangewayes’s cat.

What is your role in the story?

I start an underground movement against the mistreatment of women and slaves.

When and where were you happiest?

In the womb, I think. Yup, in the womb was nice.

If you had one wish, what would it be?

Proper drainage. Port Royal floods a lot.

On what occasion, do you lie?

I ain’t had the pleasure of a man’s company for some time now.

Tell us a bit about the old pirating days.

In the late ’70s and early ’80s, I sailed with the Samaná Bay Buccaneers, while they raided the Spanish Main chasing a treasure galleon under the pirate Laurens de Graaf.  It was all fun and games until someone lost their eye, then their arm, and their head.

About the Book

Title: No Quarter: Wenches – Volume 1

Author: MJL Evans

Genre: Historical Romance

Volume 1 of 6 begins in 1689 Port Royal, Jamaica, where Atia Crisp is imprisoned, awaiting trial, while refugees from Strangewayes’s plantation seek their new home. Their future home of Sérénité hangs in the balance, complicated by the outbreak of war with France.

Series Description:

The adventures from No Quarter: Dominium continue with wenches! In 1689, Atia Crisp finds herself imprisoned in the wickedest city on earth, Port Royal, Jamaica, while the refugees from Strangewayes’s plantation in the Blue Mountains are on the run and seeking a new home, deep in the Caribbean. Captain Jean-Paul la Roche must get them to safety and find a way to liberate the woman he loves while waging a war against the English with the pirate Laurens de Graaf.

While besieged people suffer and starve, a group of women form a secret and illegal society deep from within the bowels of the city called: WENCH. A network that deals with smugglers, merchants, cutthroats and thieves. Dragged into the struggle for supremacy of the Caribbean, the women are divided and find themselves engulfed in bloodshed. The pirates of Port Royal and former enemies may be their only hope of escape.

Hell hath no fury like a cross wench!

Character Interview One Night with Hemsworth

onenighthemsworth

Character interview with Cole from One Night with Hemsworth

 Q. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
A. I’ll save you the sob story and just give you the basics. My name’s Cole and I’m a twenty-seven-year-old divorcee with a seven-year-old kid and a bitch of an ex-wife.

Q. Describe yourself using one word.
A. Broken.

Q. Describe your perfect girl.
A. Someone who doesn’t want anything too serious. A one-night only type of girl. After my marriage, I’m not interested in another relationship. No one out there is going to be my ‘one’—I’ve already come to terms with that fact.

Q. What are your worst attributes?
A. Whoa. This could be a long list. But the worst? Probably my short temper. Okay, definitely my short temper.

Q. What are your best attributes?
A. I’m not sure I have any of those. None that I can see anyway. I’m a good father when my ex lets me see my kid, but that’s about it.

Q. What do you do for fun?
A. Hang out with my son, Cody. He means the world to me.

About the Book

One Night with Hemsworth1Title: One Night with Hemsworth

Author: Eden Finley

Genre: Romance

Cole Turner’s ex-wife is getting remarried. No amount of alcohol can drown that out, but taking home the hot brunette at the bar is a good enough distraction. That’s all Paige is meant to be—a distraction.

Paige Minor is too busy studying for her law degree and getting over a bad breakup to care about finding another boyfriend. All she wants is one night of careless fun with a complete stranger. Cole seems like the perfect candidate.

When Cole goes to pick up his son from his ex’s perfect house, with her perfect fiancé, and perfect new life, the last person he expects to see is Paige. She definitely shouldn’t be the one opening the door. As he stares at the person who was in his bed less than twenty-four hours earlier, a single thought occurs to him: I just slept with my ex’s new stepdaughter.

**********
One Night with Hemsworth is the first book in a series, but can be read as a standalone.

Author Bio

Eden Finely grew up near Brisbane in Qld, Australia. She’s a romance/erotica author by day, and Batman at night …
Okay, I’m not Batman, but I feel like I am. I have a cool secret name and everything.
I have several Young Adult works published under my real name. For this reason, I chose a pen name to write for this genre to keep them separate. Well that, and I don’t want my mother to read Eden’s books. Seriously, how freaking awkward would that be?

I’m a lover of reading and writing anything that involves romance, contemporary, paranormal, suspense, and YA. If I’m not spending time with my family, chances are I’ll have my laptop or kindle in my hand.

Character Interview

Which character are you in Between Two Worlds? And what is your main conflict?
I am the main character Rebecca Harrison. My main conflict is finding myself reliving my past and dreaming about my present.
In the book you are pretending to be someone with the same name as yourself. How hard is it to have to be two people?
It is very difficult and especially taxing.  I find myself in a depressed state a lot and at the same time feeling angry at my situation.
Can you communicate with anyone from your present time?
So far I haven’t been able to in my dreams at night but I keep trying.
Do you feel any nostalgia for the past as you relieve it?
Sometimes I do especially although I do admit it is scary seeing myself as a child, knowing what is ahead for me and the joys, sorrows and so forth I experienced.

Character Interview Whispers in Eternity

whisperseternitybanner

Interviewing characters from books is so much fun! Today I’m having Noelle as my guest, one of the characters from “Whispers in Eternity”.

Character Interview

1.) Tell us about yourself

My name is Noelle. As you might have guessed, my birthday is on Christmas Eve. Though I’m 16 when the story first begins, the reader gets to enjoy a couple of birthday celebrations with me along my journey. The first of my birthday celebrations in the story is when I turn 17, and of all of the places to celebrate a birthday, I have to spend it in the hospital, but actually, it turns out to be the best birthday ever. Yes, crazy I know—the best birthday ever spent in a hospital. I don’t want to give anything away, though, so you’ll have to read the story to find out why it was so special. My 18th birthday also tops my favorite-birthdays-ever list because it was spent with the love of my life, my soul mate, Gavin. And oh my God, on that birthday he sure proved just how romantic he truly is!

2)   What is your greatest skill?

It’s funny you should ask. If you had asked me two years ago what my greatest skill was, I would have told you, without question, that it was long-distance running. I was the state champ of the 3,200 meter race in track, and if I hadn’t gotten sick I would have prepared to run a marathon. My heart condition took over my life though, and after my life took a sharp turn, I discovered that I had acquired an amazing new talent for singing—not just singing—a capella singing. I still think it’s amazing how many crazy vocal and instrumental sounds someone can make with their mouth. I still miss running, but now I couldn’t imagine what my life would have been like if I hadn’t discovered the love of singing.

3)   What is surprising about you?

Surprising about me? Hmm… Well… I met my soul mate last year. I wouldn’t say it was necessarily love at first sight, but there was something about him that drew me in right away. Like I’d known him forever, you know? Over time, I fell in love with him, but we were definitely friends first. Most people would be like, “No relationship is that perfect. Something had to be wrong with him.” To that, I would reply, “Well, yeah. No relationship is perfect. He was pretty awesome, though.” And truly, I loved everything about him, except, well… He was a ghost, so there’s that… The whole not-having-a-physical-body factor kind of put a bit of a damper on our relationship.

4)   What is the most important thing that you learn in Whispers in Eternity?

Oh, that’s an easy one! I learned that life is too short. Every day needs to be lived to the fullest like there’s no tomorrow, because really, no one knows how long they have to live. Each day is a gift and it’s up to us to make each day the best it can be.

5)    What else can you tell us about Whispers in Eternity?

Readers have told me that they needed a box of Kleenex when they read the story. I’m just sayin’… You’ve been warned, LOL 🙂 Seriously though, the author, Jacinda Buchmann, wanted to write a heartfelt love story that would be appropriate for teenagers, but at the same time would also be enjoyable for adults. And as with all of her stories, she wanted to write a book that makes the reader see the world in a new way. That’s what “Whispers in Eternity” does—it presents a fresh voice with characters, like me, who seem to take on a life of their own.

About the Book

whispers-kdpTitle: Whispers in Eternity

Author: Jacinda Buchmann

Genre: YA Paranormal Romance

Life—the existence of truly living—doesn’t begin until you close the door on the past.

My post-high school goals had been right on track—literally. But when the doctors said that I could no longer run, I was faced with two choices—give up or change direction.

Unexpectedly, singing became my new passion—a passion fueled by the most gorgeous guy I had ever met.

I can’t say that I believe in love at first sight, but after meeting Gavin, I can now say with certainty that I believe in recognition at first meeting.

He was unquestionably my soul mate.
Only one obstacle stood in our way.
He was a ghost.

Author Bio

She graduated from Carroll College, in Helena, Montana, with a B.A. in elementary education and later received a Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University, in school counseling. Author Interview The Schwarzschild Radius

radiusbanner

Today I’m interviewing an author who has a book with an extraordinary title: The Schwarzschild Radius. I wonder how the author came up with that (although, silly me, I did forget to ask).

Q:When did you start writing?

GF: I’ve been writing seriously since I was 20. That’s when I started my first book, which was never published.

Q: Is The Schwarzschild Radius your first book? If not, please tell us a little about your first book.

GF: My first book was about 20-year-old Vietnam veterans who came back in the early 70’s and started these ultra-violent street gangs in New York. These weren’t just street punks, they were battle-hardened soldiers. The gangs had thousands of members and they waged war on each other for control of the streets, drugs and God knows what else. They had names like The Seven Immortals, The Savage Skulls, The Ghetto Brothers, The Savage Spades. These names don’t do them justice—they were bad-asses. I knew some of them. My second book was In the Talons of the Condor, which has won many awards, most recently, Second Place in the 2014 International Latino Book Awards.

Q: Why did you choose to write a thriller?

GF: I started out reading the classics when I was young. Later, I came to admire devices like plot twists and surprise endings. There are many more of those in thrillers than in The Brothers Karamazov, for example. I really liked The Day of the Jackal. Forsythe combined research, suspense and a beautifully elegant writing style into a blockbuster and that book really set the bar for me.

Q: Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

GF: Yes, forget the advice about “Write what you know.” With the internet, you can sound like an expert in any field in two hours. I say, “Write what you want.” Write what fills you with passion, because you will need that motivation to see you through the writing process to the end. And it’s a long road. Also, you must write all the time. You must think like a writer, which means you’re always on the look out for good dialogue or a good topic to write about as you go through your day. Always relate your experiences, especially bad ones, back to writing. This is the mark of a real writer. And, of course, never give up. That goes without saying.

Q: Can you tell us about your works in progress?

GF: Yes, I’m writing a conspiracy political thriller. It’s a far cry from The Schwarzschild Radius, and the good news is that my protagonist is ex-Special Forces which makes a lot of things easier, like prevailing over the bad guys. I needed a main character with special forces experience and lo and behold, Detective McKenna of the Schwarzschild Radius fit the bill to a T. It saved me the trouble of creating a new protagonist.

About The Book

Author: Gustavo Florentin

Genre: Thriller / Suspense

Rachel, an 18-year-old Columbia University student descends into the netherworld of runaways and predators to find her sister, Olivia, who has suddenly disappeared. After getting a job in a strip joint where Olivia worked, then doing private shows in the homes of rich clients, Rachel discovers that Olivia has been abducted by a killer who auctions the deaths of young girls in an eBay of agony. As she closes in on the killer who has taken Olivia, Rachel becomes his next target.

Author Bio

Gustavo Florentin was born in Queens, New York and received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic University of New York. He spent a decade in the defense industry working on the F-14 fighter jet and classified electronics projects. After the fall of the Soviet Union, many thought America wouldn’t need weapons anymore, so while others waited for the peace dividend, he moved on to the financial sector in New York where he is currently a network engineer. His passions include violin, travel to exotic places and exploring worldwide conspiracies. He lives in New Jersey where he is working on his third novel.  His thriller, In the Talons of the Condor, won the following awards:

WUACADEMIA–Prix d’Or Best Novel

Character Interview The Legacy Series

legacyseriesbanner

I’m hosting a character interview today for the book tour for “The Legacy Series”. Enjoy the interview!

Interview with: Shelby Beasley from “The Legacy Series”

How do you feel about your family, now that you’re an adult?

A: That is such a hard question with all the new information that I have found out about my family lately. If you had asked me two years ago, I would have said I have a wonderful family that I have been a complete and total disappointment to. Now, I feel that my family is a big’ole mess but I love them all.

What is your favorite occupation?

A: I love to teach. I actually would love to teach at the elementary school level to watch a child’s face as they make a new discovery. That is the most wonderful thing in the world.

Which living person do you most despise?

A: Sadly right now it is my father. He has turned out to not be anything like the man that I thought he was. I am so disappointed and angry with what he has done to our family.

What is your greatest regret?

A: My greatest regret right now is all the time that I spent not understanding and knowing both my mothers. I mean you can’t get time back so I just hope that God will grant me more time with the both of them to really form the relationships we should have had in the beginning.

What is your most treasured possession?

A: My granny gave me a locket and inside the locket are pictures of both of my mothers and on the back of the locket are my granny initials. These three women are where I come from good, bad or indifferent these women have helped to shape the woman I am today, and will be in the future so this locket means the world to me.

How do you fall in love? At first sight? Over a long period?

A: I would love to say that I am practical and I fall in love over time. But I am a sap at heart, love at first sight for sure. I believe that our hearts never fails us. It’s the rest of our bodies that gets us in trouble.

What do you say to the people that say your family is over the top?

A: I would say they should stop lying to themselves about their family. Every family has secrets and if yours doesn’t that means they have a whole cemetery of nonsense going on. And when all those bodies get up… it will be like night of the living dead.

Character Interview Hostile Takeover Tour

hostiletakeoverbanner

Character interview time today! I’m interviewing the characters from mystery / scifi / thriller “Hostile Takeover”. Enjoy.

Character Interview

Kamala Bhatia, we’ve been following recent events on Harvest, EcoMech’s colony world. While you’ve been seen in a number of news vids with Mr. McTavish, EcoMech’s new CEO, none of them agree about who you are. Can you clear up the confusion and tell us why you came to Harvest with him?

Rafe (smiling): Call me Rafe.

Kama (rolling eyes): That information is classified.

Rafe: Kama doesn’t like to talk about herself. She runs a computer school in Mumbai, although I confess I haven’t been able to locate it. She’s the step-daughter of Oasis Corp chairman, Varun Sharma. She does… contract work for Oasis. As you know, Oasis is the largest computer software company in the galaxy.

Kama: I came to Harvest because the moorhk here thinks he’s immortal. Someone had to watch his back.

What challenges did you face during the disturbance?

Kama: Dust, wind, heat, and imbecile corporate managers.

Rafe: Kama’s not what you’d call a team player. She and I had a few communication issues.

Kama: And then there were the sabotaged flyer, a blackmailer bent on murder, heavily armed soldiers led by a maniac commander with a vendetta against McTavish, and his father.

Your father, Mr. McTavish?

Rafe: My father and I have a difficult relationship.

Kama (muttering): That’s an understatement!

Kama, what do you do when you aren’t watching his back?

Kama (gaze darts to McTavish): My school keeps me busy.

Rafe: She advocates for improved corporate working conditions. Occasionally she flies pigs. Kama, why don’t you tell them more about the pigs?

Kama: No.

What are you most passionate about?

Rafe: I can take that one. She wants EcoMech to help Oasis build the Sharma Network, an inter-galactic transportation system that will open new worlds to exploration and settlement.

Kama: It will allow the poor and oppressed to escape Earth’s toxic environment—an environment created by corporate greed. The downtrodden will have the opportunity to throw off their corporate chains and make a fresh start in a better, healthier life. With McTavish at the helm of EcoMech, we can’t fail.

Rafe (sighing): It will be expensive—very expensive.

Kama: It’s only money.

We’ve heard rumors that you two are engaged. Is that true?

Kama (arms crossed): You’ve been talking to his loopy nephew, haven’t you?

Rafe (grinning): It’s a little early for announcements, but I’d follow her anywhere.
