I’m interviewing Rachelle Paige, author of contemporary romance “Anchored in the Bay”.

Author Interview

Have you been writing for a long time? —I think the standard answer is “I’ve been writing my entire life” which is true, if cliche, for me. I’ve been working on some story or other since elementary school.
What inspired you to start a writing career?—I teach my kids that any dream is possible with a little hard work, but I found I wasn’t living it. Being a published author has been my longest held dream. I decided a few years ago to really buckle down and work on it. My timeline got derailed with my second pregnancy, but I have determination and many stories to tell, so I’m excited to be jumping into self-publishing with this book.
Is Anchored in the Bay your first book? If not, please tell us a little about your first book. —Yes, Anchored in the Bay is my first book. This book is a part of a series of four which will be released over the next year and a half.
Why did you choose contemporary romance as genre for your book?–I love reading and writing romance because I believe 100% in happily ever afters. I also like writing what I know, both in location and time.
Do you have any advice for aspiring authors? —Keep working and don’t give up! I make myself write something every day. Writing gets my mind thinking long after I’ve gone to bed and even if I end up hating what I wrote that day, it will inspire something the next day.
Do you have any works in progress you’d like to tell us about? —My next book in this series, Tiny Island Summer, will be released August 1. I’m currently editing it and am having a lot of fun revisiting these characters. I initially drafted Tiny Island Summer to be a retelling of Pride and Prejudice, but it has since evolved into a story entirely its own. The heroine, Darcy Rogus, is struggling to find herself in her career and her personal life while the hero, Ben Hampton, seems to be carefree. Darcy can’t help but put her foot in her mouth around him. It’s a fun story and a perfect beach read–be it by the ocean or a lake.

Ed vowed he’d never come back for her. But no matter how many miles, or blondes, he’d put between them, he couldn’t shake her hold on his heart. He’d pictured himself stepping back into her life, but hadn’t counted on her despair over his business or that she’d be pregnant.
