Author Interview Fire on Ice Tour

I’m hosting an interview for the “Fire on Ice” and “The Playmaker” Tour. Thank you for answering my questions, Dakota Madison, and good luck with your tour!

Author Interview

1) How long have you been writing?
My mom taught me how to read when I was four years old and I feel in love with books. When I was five, I asked her to help me write my first “novel” and I’ve been writing ever since!
2) Is Fire on Ice your first novel? If not, please tell us a little about your first book.
My first Dakota Madison romance novel is called Still Fine at Forty and it’s about a newly divorced woman, who goes on a Girl’s Getaway Weekend to Sedona, and meets a younger man, and starts a passionate romance. But I’ve been writing and publishing books under my legal name since 2002.
3) Why did you choose new adult as a genre for your novel?
I’ve always loved the “college life” which is probably why I stayed in school long enough to earn a Ph.D. and became a university professor. It only seemed like a natural fit to write romances that centered mainly around college age characters.

4) Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
Write every day without fail. Don’t let anyone crush your spirit or your dreams because many people will try. Read as much as you write.
5) Do you have any works in progress you’d like to tell us about?
I’m currently working on a contemporary romance called Community Service. I wasn’t planning on the love interest using a wheel chair but when he appeared, he used one! Then the task was to make him sexy, wheelchair and all. I’ve also had to do a lot of research on spinal cord injuries, which has been enlightening.
